These came out of the garden on June 12th. Sharon, a regular garden helper showed up with them. I divided them in two bunches and drove to Monroe to the food pantry. (My husband later pointed out that I should organize deliveries since the trip cost more than the radishes were worth, but after I explained how excited I was about the first harvest, he didn't say anything more!) I have now put out a request for church or community members that regularly make that trip to be included on a call list for deliveries! (By the way, Pastor Ann seemed as excited as I was!)
Four years ago, some members of Prairie City United Methodist Church, located in Prairie City IA, decided to try our hand at gardening to benefit our local food pantry. What started out as plan for a small garden, grew into about an acre and a half of sweet corn and other vegetables! The folks at the food pantry have been so appreciative of the fresh produce the garden has provided! If you would like to be involved with this mission project, please contact the church at 515-994-2354. Thank you!

Yes, I was very excited! It didn't take long for those radishes to head out the door to two different households who were delighted to find fresh radishes here! Keep up the great work!
